Mark Smith | Director/Paramedic
Mark is proud to be serving Fleming County as both Director of the EMS Center and a Paramedic. Mark came into his role in 2021, but brings over 20 years of in-the-field Fire, EMS, and Paramedic experience to his role. He says the favorite part of his job is working with an extremely talented team and taking care of patients who are also his neighbors.
Colton McCann | Assistant Director/Supervisor/Paramedic
Colton has been with Fleming County EMS since 2014, bringing a total of 10 years of experience to his role. He completed his paramedic training through Shawnee State University, and says he loves caring for his community members.
Stacy Rigdon | Supervisor/Paramedic

Brent Moore | Supply Officer/Supervisor/Paramedic
Though Brent has been with Fleming County EMS since 2017, his career as a first responder started long before. He first became an EMT in 2005, followed by his paramedic certification in 2009, and then getting certified in Critical Care in 2014. Brent says his favorite part of the job is being able to help others.
Our Board //
Regular Meetings of the Board of Directors are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 a.m. in the Conference Room of the EMS Building at 2343 Bypass Blvd, Flemingsburg, Ky 41041. The public is invited.
Jim Clark | Chair
Jim has served on the Fleming County EMS Board of Directors since 2017, with his current term ending in 2025. As a retired United States Marine Corps Colonel, Jim brings extensive experience to the table, and is able to tap into his leadership background in his role as chairman. Jim says he's pleased with the progress that the ambulance service continues to make, and is proud of the professional support it offers to the citizens of Fleming County.
Steve Hurd | Vice Chair
Steve has served on the Fleming County EMS Board of Directors since 2019, with his current term ending in 2023. In his day job, Steve is the owner and manager of Steve's Ace Hardware, bringing that experience as a business owner to his role on the board, helping with financial decision-making and maintaining service excellence. Steve is proud of Fleming County EMS' excellent staff, fine leadership, and exceptional performance. He also enjoys working with his respected fellow board members, who are always seeking ways to make their service even better.
Jan Brown | Secretary
Jan has served on the Fleming County EMS Board of Directors since 2014, with her current term ending in 2024. She brings her experience as a registered nurse to the board meetings, and is honored to be associated with the professional and service-minded assistance that Fleming County EMS provides to the community.
Jowana Fritz | Member
Jowana has served on the Fleming County EMS Board of Directors since 2021, with her current term ending in 2023. With a background as a registered nurse, Jowana brings her specialized skill set and perspective to the table, allowing her to facilitate decision-making that keeps Fleming County EMS performing at optimal levels.

Mary Hopper | Secretary
Mary has been serving Fleming County since 2009, keeping the EMS office in good order so the first responders have all the tools they need to do an effective job. A graduate of Morehead State, Mary brings many years of clerical and bookkeeping experience to her role, and says she delights in seeing her coworkers each day.
Belinda Newman | Member
Belinda has served on the Fleming County EMS Board of Directors since 2021. She's a registered nurse with over 25 years experience in emergency and critical care nursing. Belinda says her admiration and respect for Fleming County's EMS employees and the difficult, heartbreaking, and sometimes dangerous work they do is always her main focus as a board member, and she's honored to play a small part in assisting their life-saving work.
